These terms are the agreement between EDG.tech ("we," "us") and you, the person using Inbox Cardinal. By creating an account or connecting a mailbox, you agree to them.

1. The service, and its beta state

Inbox Cardinal is a background assistant that ranks what matters across your connected email accounts and calendars on one scale, builds a ranked feed and a daily brief, surfaces scheduling conflicts, and alerts you when something important would otherwise be missed.

The product is currently in an invite-gated beta. Design partners run it while we build it, which means features will change, some edges will be rough, and we will be honest with you about both. Anything we say about future features is a plan, not a promise.

2. Connecting your accounts

• You connect each mailbox and calendar yourself, one account at a time, through the provider's own sign-in (Google or Microsoft) or with an app password you create for IMAP access. Access is read-only: Inbox Cardinal never sends, modifies, deletes, or labels your mail, and never creates, edits, or deletes calendar events.
• Only connect accounts that are yours or that you are authorized to connect. If an account belongs to your employer or another organization, it is your responsibility to have that permission. Connecting someone else's mailbox without authority is a breach of these terms.
• You can revoke access at any moment: in the app, or from the provider's own security console, independent of anything we do.

3. Your data stays yours

Your email, your calendar, and your rankings belong to you. You give us only the permission we need to operate the service for you: reading the accounts you connect, scoring and ranking their contents, and delivering the feed, brief, and alerts you signed up for. We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, and never use it to train AI models, ours or anyone's. The details live in the privacy policy.

4. What the service is not

Inbox Cardinal helps you notice what matters; it does not replace reading your email. Rankings and alerts are automated judgments and will sometimes be wrong. Do not rely on the service as your only safeguard for legally or medically critical communications, emergency notices, or anything where a miss would be irreversible. You remain responsible for your inboxes and your commitments.

5. Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully and as intended. Do not attempt to break, probe, or overload it; do not use it to process content you have no right to access; do not resell it or offer it to third parties; do not try to access another person's data. We may suspend access that threatens the service or other users, and we will tell you when we do.

6. Fees

The beta is free for accepted design partners. Paid plans arrive at launch and will be announced before anyone is charged; early users get founding-user pricing. We will never start charging you without your explicit sign-up for a paid plan, and a price change never applies retroactively.

7. Leaving

• You can leave any time. Disconnecting an account ends our access to it and purges its data from our systems; deleting your Inbox Cardinal account removes your data entirely. Your email is exactly where it always was: in your own accounts.
• We may end service for breach of these terms, with notice and a reasonable chance to fix the problem first where that is practical.

8. Disclaimers and limits

Inbox Cardinal is provided "as is," and during beta that phrase is doing real work: to the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every important message will be caught.

To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability under these terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

9. Changes

If these terms change materially, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect, just as we do with the privacy policy. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means the new terms apply.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Before either side goes to court, we agree to try to resolve any dispute directly and in good faith first.
